Following the successful Connections Series (2, 3, and 4) with help from the reclusive KBFF (Kevin Baconfrom Footloose), bernstein is now pleased to release his first full length album. bernstein has not only compiled his latest efforts, he has crafted them into an intense subterranean exploration of emotion, sound, and energy with meticulous precision and expert production. In a genre often devoid of cohesive albums, bernstein has risen to the challenge and truly created a masterpiece.

Seductive, organic tones permeate the album from its inception. Deep in pensive thought, the droning, pulsing introduction of “Get Back” sets a tone of Life and the pursuit thereof. A deconstruction into the primal nature of emotion, “Give Back (Alive)” does just that; however, the living being is drawing more inward with a plunge into the center of experimentation. Steaming with sweat, let chaos reign. “It's Chaotic” reveals unrelenting yet enticing turmoil through throbbing bass and metallic percussion. “Mine and Yours” reassures with an intimate, ephemeral soundscape full of enlightening highs and perverse lows. An aptly named, alluringly synthesized “Interlude (Reluctance)” finally opening the album's heart to allow itself to be taken but with, reluctance. Which way will it go?

Soon it is revealed through evocative vocals accompanied by bubbling reverberation and pulsating bass lines pushing even deeper into bernstein's Life by means of “Take Me.” And then it dances into a frenzy through arpeggiated triumphs and sonic exultations. Voices soar and melodies rejoice. He’s Yours. Now exposed, the album's true identity is evinced in the album centerpiece, “If It All Works Out”; a powerful enterprise filled with highs and lows ending in absolute fulfillment. The pensive “Movements” revitalizes through intricate layering of delicate sounds laying us down on a bed of contemplation. This all leads us to rise “Up In Out (My Life)” which recenters the Life through an intelligent use of the space between the sounds. “Readiness”, the last chapter of Life, brings confidence through brilliant tones, textures and dream-like vocalizations; a fitting ending to a tumultuous journey.

With Something In My Life, bernstein enfolds listeners into a tenuous landscape and through melodical storytelling, listeners discover the truth that indeed, there is Something In My Life.

bernstein and Kevin Baconfrom Footloose (KBFF) are both monikers of Germany’s Cody Norenberg. As a DJ he has been playing everything from techno to afrobeat for over a decade. bernstein's eclectic and dynamic DJ sets take listeners through audial wonderlands with sojourns into techno, lo-fi, dusty soul, superb B-sides and the occasional musical oddity. His live exhibitions offer an invitation into deep, grooved, and soulful techno that captivate mind and body. His talent for floor-stomping and sensational performances have afforded him the opportunity to play in famed venues such as Sapporo's Precious Hall, Tokyo's Space Lab Yellow, and the underground techno haven, Module. He has played along side a world-class list of artists including Portable, Ryan Elliott, Kyle Geiger, Taeji Sawai, DJ Klock, Knowing Looks, and numerous others. Through his passion for creating music he has established himself as a distinguished producer of exceptional, soulful music. His projects have been released on numerous labels including Nordform Records (Japan), White Label Music (UK), and Race Car Productions (USA). bernstein, also known as Constantine Bischoff, also maintains a position as chief mastering engineer at 345 Studios, Germany and it’s branch operation in Tokyo, Japan where his expert ears tune tracks into finely crafted masterpieces.
