As we stumble upon our half decade of existence we thought it would be high time to select a few releases and unreleased gems for the general public. These are songs that captured our hearts and were constantly on repeat, classics per se. We offer this as a reminder that the music of Race Car Productions is never disposable. Never say die.

Co-curated by The Librarian and Evan Scott, Never Say Die gives a wide range of the sounds RCP has brought to the table over the years, containing 4 previously unreleased tracks by the likes of 8 Bit Fit, Beta Project, KBFF, and a rare glimpse at New Models' humble beginnings. Please enjoy.

Recently, The Librarian was off to see his wife in Michigan. As he relaxed in his rented penthouse a tornado was ravaging outer Detroit. As he watched the funnel clouds moving in he recorded a journey that travels through romance, death, and captivity all the while maintaining a sinister playfulness that only The Librarian can concoct.

For the past five years, an event named 4/4 has been raging on and on in Cincinnati, OH. It's seen ups and downs, changed venues but has always managed to stay true to it's own philosophy, forward thinking music. Recently the creators, locals KFrey & The Librarian, decided to start a volume recording of the feel of the night's ambiance. Dirty yet refined, sexy yet astute. We think you will enjoy being a part of something that only a handful of lucky individuals get to witness. 4/4.

Nature Program remixes Caribou

We thought we'd take this opportunity to introduce you to another new artist doing work with us here at RCP. And what better way to do so than to share with you a remix he did for Caribou. Nature Program, born Eric Pitra, is originally from northern California. He studied photography in Denver and moved to Brooklyn in 2002. His moniker Nature Program stems from a childhood obsession with nature programs on PBS and his constant search for wildlife in the rolling hills where he was raised.

The Fruhstucks [Live]

Our new act named The Fruhstucks has begun to play shows in Spain to support their new single on Race Car Productions entitled Hats & Cats. One of their first performances will be at the Zeppelin Club in Castellón, Spain on April 17th, 2010. If you are in the area, stop by and see them. You won't be disappointed.

As a special treat, we've uploaded 2 AERO sessions for you on this fine Valentine's Day evening. The first comes from newcomer DJ Empirical, who's 'anything goes' style of mixing has made him a staple in the clubs and bars of the Cincinnati area. In this session, we find him reflecting. Going back to electronic dance music's infancy to find some gems that still get the party hype. Find a long stretch of road, hit 88 mph, and hold tight. This one is hot.

Next up we have a new session from Teef. In this mix Teef explores deep sounds from a myriad of genres such as house, techno, ambient, and so much more. And it isn't without an exclusive moment or two either. One could go on about this mix, but it's best to let it speak for itself. It's quite simply too good for words. Enjoy.

Busy signals hit our ears... again

It's been quite some time in the making, but New Models' remix EP is almost here. Busy Signals: False Alarms Edition is an eclectic collection of remixes from RCP alums as well as newcomer 8 Bit Fit and Output Noise Records disco-house duo Dmerit. If you liked the original, we think you'll love these unique takes on these great tracks. If it wasn't so much your thing, give it a second listen, there's bound to be something on the False Alarms Edition for everyone. It contains 7 never before heard remixes plus the original EP. Here's a remix of "Surrender" from downtempo alchemist Beta Project. We hope you enjoy.

In other news, we at RCP have been spending the last few blustery weeks trying to stay warm and come up with the 2010 release schedule. First up is a remix album of last summer's Busy Signals EP from pop duo New Models. On it contains an eclectic selection of remixes from Dmerit (of Output Noise Records), Teef, Evan Scott, Kyle Cannon, Beta Project, and newcomer 8 Bit Fit.
