Purchase: Various Artists & Bernstein - Race Car Productions presents Volume 1

Race Car Productions offers up its virgin effort with "Volume I" including music from Japan’s bernstein and the US’s Mossmoss and Evan Scott. First, we have "Chobicks" from San Francisco’s Mossmoss, which proves to be playful and glitchy yet jacking. "Chobicks" is sure to ignite dance floors everywhere with raw 8-bit synths and pulsating beats as it re-inserts the joy often times devoid of the genre of minimal techno. It proves itself effective at all hours of the evening. With its deep, bass-heavy, swinging, machine-like percussion, and impeccable drum beats.

We then move on to bernstein’s "Bep" which is everything minimal techno should aspire to be. Rolling basslines, ascending intensities and seamless transitions make "Bep" an unstoppable force in the realm of electronic music.

Evan Scott provides us with "Crane Fist," inspired by the Martial Arts film genre, "Crane Fist" is a lush, mental soundscape that fights as much as it sooths. "Crane Fist" is one of five tracks from the forthcoming mini concept album called Five Style Fist from producer Evan Scott. Spooky and menacing, "Crane Fist" and it’s dark, minimal composition hints at the Kung Fu stylings that originally inspired it.
